Most people cannot point to Greece on a map! Many still believe that Greece is a country of the past and that perhaps some other nation now occupies the space that was once Greece. Although none of this is true, most people seem to know one thing for sure: that Greece is somehow the place where democracy was born in the world and the place where more philosophers and thinkers were born than from any other part of the spaceship Earth.

A small, rather rocky peninsula in the southern Balkans, hundreds of small islets and a coastline longer than the English coastline, Greece is still in the same place it was 2500 years ago. At that time, once again, when East met West, strange, new and radical ideas were born in the minds of a handful of men. These men were destined to shape the way the rest of the Western world would think, question, and examine God, man, and nature from then on. Greek thought is the foundation of everything we know today and has paved the way for how we will examine and seek the true answers to our questions.
